General Fire Safety And Evacuation Course

Essential Fire Protection’s general evacuation training course is designed to train employees in basic fire safety and how to respond to different emergency situations.

The General Occupant training provides an overview and awareness of workplace emergencies,
building emergency systems and procedures for all of your employees. The highest priority must
be to evacuate everyone from an emergency affected area in a safe and orderly fashion.
Evacuation procedures and staff roles and responsibilities in the plan are vital and with training
scheduled for staff every 12 months compliance with Australian Standard 3745 is achieved.

Course Duration and Location
This course is approximately 30 minutes and delivered at your premises.

Fire Safety Training and Evacuation is not only required by law but it is vital that you understand your workplace procedure for raising the alarm, the use of the fire-fighting equipment and evacuation of the building.

• At each position that you hold you must make sure you know what to do in the event of a fire or other emergency.
• You must have evacuation training within 2 days of employment and then annually so you understand emergency procedures, including evacuation instructions, assembly point locations and use of fire alarms and equipment.
• You employer as a business owner or manager occupying a building has a legal obligation to ensure the safety of any person in that building in the event of a fire or other emergency.
• It is also a legal requirement that you practice an evacuation annually as part of your training.

  • Fire extinguishers: Fire triangle, classes of fire, types of fire extinguishers & safe use of extinguishers (First Response Evacuation Instruction)
• Certificate issued on successful completion of assessment

The course provides a overview of workplace emergency procedures, building fire safety systems and common fire fighting equipment.
